Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

We have been so blessed this year...I'm incredibly thankful for the husband and boys God has given me!  To think that last Christmas we were just finding out that Jonathan was on his way!  Now he is 4 months old!  We hope and pray each of you dear friends has had a wonderful year of serving the Lord as we have, and that you have a very special Christmas celebrating the birth of our Savior with your loved ones!  Thank you for your faithful prayers for us - we look forward to embarking on an exciting year of travel in January!

Update on the Garraway Boys :)

Believe it or not, David is 26 months old now and Jonathan is 3 months old!!!  Time is FLYING!  We sure are enjoying life with these two little blessings!  Are you wondering what they've been up to lately?  Well, here is an update on the little Garraway men for ya!

David is all boy - he loves walking around the house all day wearing his fireman hat (even enjoys wearing it to bed...not sure quite how that works out, but he tries!), playing basketball with his little 3.5 ft hoop from Goodwill, reading books with Daddy or Mommy, being silly and trying to make his little brother smile, helping Mommy cook, and learning his letters and numbers!  Recently he learned how to read his first word: "Mom"!!!!  He knew what sounds the letters made, so I helped him sound it out and taught him that it said "mom".  Now, whenever he sees the word, he scrolls his finger across the word and sounds it out "Mmmmoooommmm" :)  He is pretty proud of himself (and so are we!).  He can count to ten if the numbers are in front of him.  We are working on memorizing the numbers so we can count from 1-10 without looking at the numbers.  He loves to pray (he bows his head and folds his hand and repeats each word after me).  He loves his Bible (we read a few stories from it before bed each night) and already knows who Jesus is (thanks to his little Bible and the Christmas Play DVD which he loves to watch)!  It's amazing to see his little mind soaking in all these things, especially spiritual truths!  What a responsibility we have, to teach him right things and protect his innocent mind from evil.  A few resources we HIGHLY recommend for teaching your children spiritual truths are:
Bible ABC's Memory Book
- My First Bible
- Christmas Peace (our church's Christmas Play DVD)
Hopefully these things can help you as you teach, train and guide your children in the way they should go!

Jonathan is growing and changing each day!  His face LIGHTS UP when anyone gets up close and starts smiling/talking to him!  He is going to be a people person for sure!  The ladies in the nursery are already falling prey to his charm - they say he smiles, giggles and coos at them all the time!!  He has started laughing (not a full on laugh yet, but little newborn laughs)!  He loves when Daddy takes his hands and helps him clap! :)  He sleeps 8-10 hours straight at night now, which has been NICE!  He has a strong neck and loves to sit up on the couch propped with pillows and watch his big brother play!  He is a sweet and precious boy...we are so thankful for this gift from God!

Our Boys

I know, I am past due for an update on here....the updates will come, I promise!  David has turned 2, Jonathan is almost 2 months old now, and there's so much I'd like to update you all on and so many pictures I'd like to post... But, alas, our life is so busy (with 2 kids now, plus being in the thick of recording our latest CD) that it will all have to wait.

Today, I just wanted to post quickly and say I am SO thankful for the sons God has blessed us with!  David is such sweet and loving big brother and Jonathan is just going to adore him and love playing with him one day soon!  We are so blessed to get to be parents, but more than that, to get to be parents to these precious boys....enjoy these few photos we snapped the other day of our little blessings :)

Well, of course the ONE picture that Jonathan is smiling in, David isn't :)

Hugs!

Home...and the New Addition :)

We got home after many months of travel on July 31!  We quickly got things ready for the new baby (due in less than a month) and enjoyed the last couple weeks with David before baby brother made his appearance (2 weeks early!).  Enjoy these photos of our lives this past month...
We love good ol' Iowa sweet corn!

David went a couple days just LOVING his hat from the Indianapolis Zoo!  He even wore it to bed :)

Our last Sunday as a family of 3!  Of course, we didn't know it at that time :)

Out for a date with my man!

Picnic at our town square with Grandma!

And a stop at the Library

Early Thursday morning, August 14, we headed to the hospital and wondered if this was really the day our second son would be born!  I was two weeks early (but David was also two weeks early)...and I had been feeling "funny" for a couple days.

This is it, folks!  D-day!!!  Time to have a baby!!!  Caleb was my rock...kept me company as we walked the halls for hours.  Kept me sane as I went through labor.  He was right by my side the whole time.

Looking into the face of a miracle - nothing proves the miraculous power of God like the birth of a baby!

Welcome to the world, Jonathan Lee Garraway!  7lbs 9oz, 20 inches long.

Nothing quite as precious as a fresh newborn face!

After 24 hours, we were allowed to go home from the hospital!  David was thrilled to meet his little brother!  Here is a snapshot of the video I took as David met Jonathan for the first time.  Here he is giving Jonathan a kiss :)

PopPop and Grandma were thrilled to meet their newest grandson!

Jonathan's first smile in his sleep to be caught on camera!  2 days old

Off to church - this Sunday as a family of four!! :)

Watching brother play in the jungle gym!

Blissful sleep...

While my parents were in town, we went to the Iowa Children's Museum!

What a fun place!!  David LOVED it!

Reading "Adam Raccoon" or Coom as David calls it!  This is David's favorite book right now.

Pointing out Jonathan's facial features for the camera...

A little grin from the big one-week old!!!

Just can't get enough...can you blame me?!?

Kisses from big brother!

I'm in love with my boys :)  We are so blessed.
